What Does a Micro Wedding at N1 Estate Look Like?
At N1 Estate, a micro wedding is an intimate wedding experience designed for couples who want more than a short ceremony but do not want to host a large traditional reception. Our Micro Wedding Package can accommodate up to 28 attendees, including the couple. That size still allows couples to enjoy the traditional flow of a wedding day - ceremony, cocktails, photography, dinner, cake and celebration while spending meaningful time with almost everyone they invited.
An Outdoor Ceremony on the Naramata Bench
The celebration began with an outdoor ceremony at N1 Estate. Guests gathered in The Garden while the couple exchanged vows surrounded by the natural scenery of the Naramata Bench. One of the advantages of an intimate wedding is how connected the ceremony can feel. With a smaller group, guests are physically closer to the couple, and the entire ceremony feels more personal. The ceremony space at N1 Estate looks toward the surrounding landscape, with greenery, orchards, vineyards and Okanagan Lake forming the backdrop.
Cocktails and Time to Enjoy the Property
After the ceremony, the day transitioned into cocktail time. Guests had time to relax, enjoy drinks and spend time together while the newlyweds stepped away for photographs around the farm. Because the ceremony, cocktail area, photography locations and reception are all on the same property, couples do not lose time travelling between separate venues. That makes the wedding day feel much more relaxed, especially with a smaller guest list.
Modern Italian Catering for an Intimate Reception
Dinner was catered by Toncini Modern Italian, with Chef Andrew Toncini creating a menu for the celebration. Food can become one of the most memorable parts of a micro wedding because couples have the flexibility to choose a meal that fits the atmosphere they want to create. With fewer guests, couples may choose anything from a relaxed buffet or pizza dinner to a more elevated catered experience. For this wedding, modern Italian cuisine fit naturally with the intimate outdoor setting and long summer evening.
Cocktails and Professional Bartending
Professional bartending was provided by Bar Travelling Man. A dedicated bartender allowed guests to enjoy properly prepared cocktails throughout the celebration while the couple could focus on enjoying the evening. At N1 Estate, a bartender is required when couples choose to serve alcoholic beverages beyond champagne for the champagne tower and wine. Flowers and Décor That Worked With the Setting
Florals were provided by Lenfloran Flowers, while rentals and décor were supplied by Mili Events Co. Rather than trying to compete with the natural landscape, the design complemented the outdoor setting.
The farm, orchards and Okanagan views already provide much of the visual backdrop, so thoughtful florals, table details and rentals can enhance the setting without overwhelming it. Wedding Photography Around N1 Estate
Photography was provided by Milena Shields Photography. The couple also had the opportunity to take portraits around the property, using the orchard and surrounding Okanagan landscape as their backdrop. Hair, Makeup and Wedding Fashion
The bride's wedding-day look was completed with hair by Bridal Hair by Tara Meghan and makeup by Fresh Face Artistry. Her gown was from Bliss Bridal in Kelowna. For destination weddings in the Okanagan, working with local beauty professionals can simplify the wedding morning. It can also be helpful to schedule hair and makeup early enough that there is time before the ceremony without feeling rushed.
Guest Transportation
Guest transportation was provided by Kelowna Concierge. Transportation is an important detail for weddings along the Naramata Bench, particularly when guests are staying in Penticton or visiting the Okanagan from out of town. N1 Estate has limited on-site guest parking, so arranging a shuttle or taxi service can make the experience much easier for both the couple and their guests. It also allows guests to enjoy the celebration without worrying about driving after the reception.
