Preparing for Your Okanagan Micro Wedding at N1 Estate: 6-Month Planning Checklist

Planning a micro wedding is one of the most exciting parts of your engagement — intimate, meaningful, and beautifully intentional.

But while a smaller guest count means less overwhelm than a traditional wedding, there are still many important details to organize to ensure your day feels seamless, relaxed, and full of joy. In fact, many couples planning intimate weddings say the smaller format can make them underestimate how many little logistics still matter.

At N1 Estate Farm, we walk couples through this every season, so we’ve created a simple checklist to help you stay organized and actually enjoy the process.

6-12 MONTHS BEFORE YOUR OKANAGAN MICRO WEDDING

✓ Finalize Your Guest List

Micro weddings are intimate by nature, so now is the time to decide exactly who will be sharing this day with you. Think immediate family, closest friends, and the people who truly matter most.

Having your guest count finalized early helps with:

  • invitation ordering

  • seating layout

  • dinner planning

  • accommodation selection

✓ Book Your Key Vendors

While N1 Estate includes many beautiful details in our packages, there are still a few vendors you'll want to personally secure early:

  • catering

  • hair + makeup

  • transportation

  • getting ready or after party photography, if desired

  • videography, if desired

  • florist upgrades, if desired

Penticton wedding vendors book up quickly, so this is not something to leave until later.

✓ Complete The Wedding Questionnare

Now is the fun part. Our wedding questionnaire allows you to customize your special day to make it feel truly you.

  • colour preference

  • ceremony decor

  • wedding officiant

  • bridal party

  • cake style and flavour

  • optional enhancements, and more

✓ Send Invitations

Whether formal invitations or a beautifully designed digital invite, get these sent now.

Be sure to include:

  • ceremony start time

  • venue address

  • accommodation suggestions

  • RSVP deadline

  • any dress code notes

✓ Reserve Accommodations

Many of your guests may be travelling to Penticton. Reserve hotel blocks or provide suggested nearby accommodations so guests can secure summer bookings before the busy season fills up. We are always happy to recommend!

✓ Start Dress/Suit Shopping

Wedding attire almost always takes longer than expected — especially if alterations are needed.

6-12 months out is the ideal time to begin shopping. Also, keep in mind your bridal party and family outfits.

3 MONTHS BEFORE YOUR OKANAGAN MICRO WEDDING

✓ Plan Your Ceremony Details

Begin thinking about:

  • processional order

  • music choices

  • vow style (traditional or personal)

  • ring exchange details

  • family involvement

This is also a great time to decide if anyone special will do a reading or speech.

✓ Schedule Hair + Makeup Trials

Trials help remove stress and ensure your wedding morning feels calm and smooth.

Bring inspiration photos and wear white if possible so you can visualize the full look.

✓ Photography Preferences

Carefully captured moments from your wedding day is something couples treasure forever. That is why it is so important to take the time to think through any photography preferences or special requests you may have for your big day. Connect with your photographer in advance and discuss specific family portraits you would like, the most meaningful moments you want documented, preferred photography styles, poses, and any other important details. The more thorough and detailed you are, the more likely your photographer will be able to beautifully preserve the memories that matter most to you.

✓ Confirm Menu + Dining Experience

Micro weddings are so special because dinner feels incredibly intimate.

Now is the time to finalize:

  • dinner selections

  • dietary restrictions

  • bar menu
